I have always been curious about the 10-step korean skincare routine, so I tried it for an entire month to see how it was & if there were any noticeable benefits! I tried a oil cleanser, water-based cleanser, scrub, toner, essence, moisturizer, eye cream, night serum, and SPF every day and night for 31 days to see if they live up to the hype!

To clarify, I stopped using the sheet masks after the first week and I used the scrub 3-4 times a week! So I guess it was more like ~450 applications a month. I got my kit here:

HELLO FRIENDS!!! i just wanted to clarify, i know ur not supposed to put on a scrub every single day, i used the scrub like 3-4 times a week! i had a line in the video about it and i think we cut it for some reason. so i guess my math was wrong and it was more like ~450 applications!
thanks & sorry for the confusion!!

Btw it was right to do the essence before the sheet mask, part of the essence's point is to help all the other products you use absorb and work :)

More than just trying the Korean skin care routiine, you need to figure if the products you'll be using is appropriate for your skin type, because some Korean products are specifically design for oily, dry, combination, sensitive or acne prone skins.
And also scrubs are mostly exfoliants so its recommended to use 1-2 times a week. I use scrubs only once (night or day) in a day and then once or twice a week. Serum and Ampoules are usually to target the skin problems which you usually use before moisturizer.

just a tip, maybe you shouldnt moisturize too much, sometimes, your skin will absorb toooooo much moisture which will clog your pores & you'll get pimples. You should research on what works for your skin type :) )

Tip: Don't exfoliate your face everyday, use your ring finger in circular motions instead of all of them, & invest in a sleeping mask :)

i didnt realise my skincare was so involved but it's very similar to this. oil blend to melt makeup, makeup wipe to remove makeup, water based cleanser, facial scrub (once a week), micellar water cleanse, toner, oil essence, serum essence, night moisturiser mixed with retin A drops (the ordinary) and top off with eye cream. then when i have a bath i do a hair mask and face mask once a week.

An alternative to the Zero purity makeup cleanser you can use a Ponds makeup cleanser, I have it and it seems like it does the same thing as the Zero

I really wanna try this , your skin look so much better

  • I hope you are using the scrub one or twice a week bc if you are using it everyday, that might be the reason why your skin is breaking out. You’re not supposed to scrub everyday bc you’re stripping off the new skin cells that developed. Also. You don’t have to do everything everyday. The oil based cleanser is basically just a makeup remover so you don’t have to do it in the morning. Same goes with the eye cream. And the essence and serum and eye cream and mask, using them every other day is fine. You don’t even have to do the mask. The point of the sheet mask in the step is for instances when your skin is acting up like it’s dry or you’re breaking out. Just kind of like an easy pamper treatment for skin issues of the moment.

3 to 4 steps is the most I can manage. Too tired at night and well, honestly the same in the morning now that I think about it. lol

I love this! :) How/why did you choose these products? I'm working on creating a data-driven resource for people to select skincare products that would work well for them given their skin conditions and their skincare goals. I'm reading a lot of research in the cosmetic dermatology literature, speaking with top researchers in the industry, and interviewing hundreds of skincare users. It'd be really helpful to hear your thoughts on the best way to go about this. For anyone else reading this, check out my first video here!

I absolutely love korean skincare!! I started trying a variety of products a few years ago and have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. I have a full day time skincare routine with certain products and a night time one too with different products (about 7 for both). I also do a variety of face masks including the sheet masks and clay ones. I could definitely call my love of skincare a hobby at this point, they're always coming up with cool new products and its alot of fun trying them. :)
