What are the different types of skirts?
Which skirt fits which body type?
This video shows the 3 parameters when choosing a skirt: waist, hemline and fullness.
I refer to the main body types: pear, apple, inverted triangle, rectangle & hourglass. Petite and tall women are also mentioned, but if you are petite or tall, you are still (also) a body type.

Thumbs up if you liked this video!

Hi Justine. Can you have a pencil skirt and a line skirt both working for a type body? Thank you.

I love the channel, but there's one thing. Why assume short ladies have legs to show off or that mini is appropriate to wear? What should one wear at work? Personally (short apple with short not-to-show-off legs) my solution is pencil skirt just above the knee. Could I wear some other length of skirt? I love empires, but they're hard to find.

Thank you so much for the video! Can you do one on how to pair tops with skirts? I have skirts and tops but I just can't match them nicely. Can you do one on dress as well?

I feel like my biggest issue with skirts is finding the right material for certain skirt types. Like, I feel confident in maxi dresses in a stretchy material, but maxi skirts in the same fabric cling to me in very unflattering ways.

What about bell-shaped skirts? Worn with a petticoat, like in Lolita fashion (_Nothing_ to do with the book — it's based on Victorian, Edwardian and Rococo kids' fashion.). What body type are they most flattering on?

The day I find maxi or floor length skirt that a is also high rise, b is long enough to cover even half of my angles (I'm 174cm and have kinda long legs) and c doesn't have slits. It doesn't sound that hard, does it?

  • Alexandra Alexe 3 months ago

Still a bit confused though. I am an inverted triangle (shoulders are much wider than my hips) and my torso is short. What type of skirt would be best? I think a low rise??? And then length and flare? I don't know

You mentioned that mid knee length is not optimum for petites. I am petite and slim, but middle aged. Would you still dissuade me from knee length skirts? Thank you.
